LIVING OUR FAITH CAMPAIGN which you may have heard about at other local parishes will be starting in our Parish soon, lasting for three weekends. The idea behind the Campaign is to raise funds for the Diocese to finance clergy and vocations, laity formation and liturgy. When we have reached our target of £50,000 a percentage of this sum will come back to us to spend on Parish Projects.

This week you should receive further information by post. I would urge you to consider what you can offer to the Campaign, and consider how you can best participate. The weekend of the 24 & 25 July will be the final weekend of the Campaign, when you will be given the opportunity to complete a pledge form to finalise your donation, and wherever possible gift-aid your donation.

Should your circumstances change at any time your pledge can be increased, decreased or cancelled.

Please pray for the success of the Living Our Faith Campaign in our Parish.

CONFIRMATION Catechists wanted — 14th July 2011 is when we will be having confirmation in our Pastoral Area. We hope to have a large group of young people coming forward for this Sacrament and will therefore need help supporting them and their families in their preparation. Do you have talents and enthusiasm to share faith with young people? Have you some time you can give in the evenings or at the weekend (approx. 25 hrs)?

Young Catechists

Please think on this, more details next weekend.

VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED FOR SUNDAY COFFEE ROTA
Can you spare just 60 minutes once in a while on a Sunday to help out? If so please put your name down on the rota on the Hall notice board. Please sign up for a Sunday convenient to you. It would be great to have more helpers for this valuable service. If you are interested in joining the rota, but have not served in this way before, please ask.

A new water heater is on order and will be installed soon, which will mean there will be no need to fill the urn before Mass. We sincerely hope this will encourage more of you to offer your services to serve refreshments after Mass. Thank you.

Parish Library    There are a huge range of spiritual reading books in the West Chapel do make use of them.

NEWSPAPERS    Due to the number of requests for us to supply the Newspapers, it has been decided that we will continue to purchase them for you, but only for those who sign and specify their order on the form provided by the Lady Altar. If you don´t sign up, a paper will not be ordered for you. Once this is restarted your paper will be put out, with your name on. N.B. A few words from Fr. JP

Have you ever noticed that there is no mention of Jesus, his life, death or resurrection, nor of any of the Christian mysteries in the Our Father?
This is because it was his own prayer.
He was seized by a single awareness: the Father! He was not thinking about himself.
So when we pray the Our Father we are not praying to him, but with him; we are praying his prayer. We are so close to him that we cannot see him; and like him, we see only the Father. We are one with him, looking out through his eyes: seeing the Father, and seeing the world as he sees it. In other words we are praying through him. Notice in today´s Mass how many of our prayers end with the phrase, “through Our Lord Jesus Christ....”
